They have seen me and my Father, and they have hated
They have seen me and my Father, and they have hated
John 15:21-27 『But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin. He that hateth me hateth my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause..But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.』
The Pharisees and scribes persecuted the disciples because of Jesus’ name. In the law, breaking the law was a sin, but now it is a sin to not believe in Jesus’ words. Jesus is the Son of God and has shown many signs, but they are trying to kill him instead. Therefore, they hate God because they hate Jesus. This means that for the Jews who say they believe in God, not believing in the one sent by God is a sin. In other words, not believing in Jesus means not believing in the work Jesus does. What Jesus does is to forgive sins. However, the Jews argue that this is blasphemy. Therefore, the Holy Spirit testifies that the Jews do not believe in Jesus, and the unbelievers themselves say so, so they become witnesses.
Today, believers think that sins are forgiven through Jesus Christ, but that forgiveness becomes the past, and that the sins committed from the next day must be forgiven again. Jesus took away all the sins of the past, present, and future in this world, but believers say no. This means that the Holy Spirit is a witness, and the person who says so is a witness. Since the Holy Spirit is a witness, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is committed. Jesus, as the Son of God, wants to forgive the sins of all people in the world, so why don't the Jews of that time or believers today believe it?
In the Book of Exodus, the Israelites complained to Moses (God's spokesman) several times. They complained because they thought they would die after leaving Egypt and being blocked by the Red Sea. Exodus 14:11 "They complained to Moses, 'Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you done this to us, to bring us up out of Egypt?'"
They complained in the Desert of Shur that there was no water to drink. Exodus 15:22-24 "So Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea, and they went out into the Desert of Shur. They went three days in the desert but found no water. Then they came to Marah, and they could not drink the water of Marah, because it was bitter. Therefore its name was called Marah. And the people murmured against Moses, saying, 'What shall we drink?'"
Exodus 16:2-3 "And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: and the children of Israel said unto them, Would that we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full! For ye have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole congregation with hunger."
The reason why the Israelites complained to God even though they saw the great miracles of God through the ten plagues during the Exodus is because when a problem arises, the flesh reacts immediately. Even in the time of Jesus, even though he showed numerous signs, the Jews looked at Jesus with their fleshly eyes. Even today, when believers look at the problem of sin, they trust their fleshly reactions more than God’s words.
Even though God spoke, they did not believe what Jesus said because it did not fit their own thoughts. This is because people treated Jesus with the knowledge they had learned. The Pharisees and scribes treated Jesus with the knowledge they had learned through the law. In their opinion, Jesus was from Nazareth and was the Son of Man, not the Son of God. Even though he showed many signs, the Jews did not believe what Jesus said because of the law that only God can forgive sins.
Today's believers think about sin and say that forgiveness of sins was only received in the past, but Hebrews 9:12 says, "He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, not by means of the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption for us." Chapter 9, verse 28 says, "So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to bring salvation to those who are eagerly waiting for him."
Hebrews 10:14-18 says, "But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time on, waiting until his enemies should be made his footstool. For by one sacrifice he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. The Spirit also bears witness to us, saying, 'This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days,' says the Lord: 'I will put my laws in their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,' and he said, 'Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more. Wherefore wherefore, wherefore, there is no more sacrifice for sin." It says that with one sacrifice, man has been made perfect forever, and that God does not remember lawless deeds any more. And there is no more sacrifice for sin. It says that the Holy Spirit bears witness to this.
But why do believers want to be forgiven of their sins every day and pray for forgiveness through the blood of Jesus every day? It is because they do not believe the words of the Bible. Their own thoughts are above the Bible. Romans 8:1-2 says, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”
During the Exodus, the people complained to Moses, but that was the same as what they did to God. In the time of Jesus, regarding the Pharisees and scribes who did not believe in Him and hated Him, He said, "He who hates Me hates My Father also."
Likewise, if today’s believers deify Jesus and say they love God, but do not believe His words, they are the same as the Gentiles. The Gentiles do not believe in Jesus’ Father, Jehovah God, but rather hate Him. This is because He is not their God. Just like the war between gods, the reason religious wars occur is because all gods they do not believe in are fake. However, if today’s church believers say Jehovah God is their Lord, but do not believe in His words, they are blaspheming God and are liars. When God brought up the sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, He said that all sins and blasphemies in the world can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven. Blasphemy is not a word directed at the Gentiles, but a word spoken to believers. I must put down all my thoughts and reactions from my flesh before the Word of God.
